| Background: | The Information Technology Department (ITD) manages and maintains all data communication circuits used to connect remote sites located within the County of El Paso. These circuits provide the secure connectivity that allows employees to utilize the information resources resident on the County of El Paso’s network. These resources include; email, shared files storage, and enterprise applications (Odyssey, Munis, etc.). ITD has standardized the speeds and the bandwidth required for optimized user productivity for these remote locations.
ITD is requesting approval of an agreement with AT&T ILEC Intrastate Services to provide a 1Gbps Data Line Circuit to the Sheriff’s Office location at 3850 Justice Road. This twelve (12) month service agreement provides is to renew the current services being provided by AT&T’s GigaMAN data circuit. This agreement is for an annual cost of $26,052. The agreement will become effective as of 07/28/2018 and will terminate on 07/29/2019.
County Auditors has deemed this agreement as a utility on August 14, 2018 and has authorized payment to proceed through its normal process.
County Attorney's Office approved contract #2018-0324 for Commissioners Court on July 31, 2018. No 1295 Form needed for this agreement.
ITD strives to execute procurement instruments 30 days in advance of their effective date. Occasionally circumstances occur that delay our process and we must request approval on a pre-dated agreement. We have contacted the vendor to ensure we receive all the benefits of the agreement and that, should our request be denied, we are not responsible for the lapsed contact period. |
