| Background: | In November 2017, the Texas Department of Transportation offered their 2018 Coordinated Call for Projects of several Public Transportation Division applications available to subrecepients. The El Paso County was approved by Commissioner’s Court on February 12, 2018 to submit an application to TxDOT for the Rural Discretionary Grant, seeking funds for the acquisition of Right of Way (ROW), design and construction of ADA compliant passenger bus shelters and adjacent sidewalks for each of El Paso County’s rural commuter bus routes. TxDOT reviewed applications and decided to award the El Paso County planning funds via the FY2019 Federal Planning Program; these funds will be used to assist with the completion of a Feasibility Study/Needs Assessment for the proposed bus shelters. |
