| Background: | Part of the Border Prosecution Unit (BPU) grant's mission is to support, work closely and assist the Department of Public Safety with its projects and operations. The Border Prosecution Unit grant is paid entirely by the Governor's Office with zero County match. To fulfill the BPU's purpose, a BPU attorney, who is an employee of the County of El Paso, is housed in San Angelo, TX within the DPS facility. This agreement is to continue to allow that attorney to use the DPS systems. The BPU grant has had an attorney housed in San Angelo since it began in 2009. |
