Item Title:District Attorney - BPU Personnel DPS System Use Interlocal Agreement

Subject:Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the Interlocal Cooperation Contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for the use of DPS' intranet and email, which are vital to the performance of the Border Prosecution Unit's functions.  There is no cost to the County.  (Contract No. 2018-0485)
Background:Part of the Border Prosecution Unit (BPU) grant's mission is to support, work closely and assist the Department of Public Safety with its projects and operations.  The Border Prosecution Unit grant is paid entirely by the Governor's Office with zero County match.  To fulfill the BPU's purpose, a BPU attorney, who is an employee of the County of El Paso, is housed in San Angelo, TX within the DPS facility.  This agreement is to continue to allow that attorney to use the DPS systems.  The BPU grant has had an attorney housed in San Angelo since it began in 2009. 
Fiscal Impact:There is no fiscal impact to the County of El Paso.
Recommendation:Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the Interlocal Cooperation Contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for the use of DPS' intranet and email, which are vital to the performance of the Border Prosecution Unit's functions.  There is no cost to the County.  (Contract No. 2018-0485)
