This is not a new fee. This fee needs to be approved every year per statute. This document describes the primary objective for records preservation and restoration plan. The objective is to digitize files to facilitate the District Clerk staff and the public in readily obtaining instant access to archived documents. With this plan, the District Clerk will provide an Electronic Protection Plan to historical documents that satisfy State Library and Archive Commission Retention Requirements.

The District Clerk's goal is to improve the physical storage and address the space limitations. We will enhance the control of files, which will lesson misfiled and lost documents or case files. Furthermore, it will make public records more accessible electronically and shorten the turnaround time for requests for public information. The electronic record will improve the integrity of case files.
